This agreement is between Smiths Electrical ("the trader") and Alex Customer ("the customer"), dated 1 September 2026.
1. The work
The trader will carry out the following work at 45 Oak Avenue, Anytown, AT3 4DE: Full rewire of kitchen circuit, including new consumer unit and testing certificate.
Estimated start date: 14 September 2026. Estimated completion date: 16 September 2026. These dates may move if access, materials, or the scope of work changes — the trader will let the customer know as soon as reasonably possible if that happens.
2. Price and payment
Total price: £1,450, which includes labour and materials unless stated otherwise in writing.
Deposit: £300, payable before work starts. The balance is due on completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Changes to the work
If either the customer or the trader wants to change what's been agreed — extra work, different materials, a different finish — that change and any effect on the price or timeline will be agreed in writing (including by text or email) before it goes ahead.
4. Access and preparation
The customer agrees to provide reasonable access to the property and to essential utilities (water, electricity) needed to carry out the work, unless agreed otherwise.
5. Insurance
Smiths Electrical holds public liability insurance covering the work carried out under this contract.

9. Governing law
